About FRS

Founded in 1978 by Dan Berggren, Fredonia Radio Systems is one of the few fully volunteer student-run public radio services left in the country. FRS is a public trustee maintained and funded by the State University of New York at Fredonia Student Association Government (via student activity fee.) The organization consists of WCVF, our non-commercial FCC licensed FM station located in Northern Chautauqua County; and WDVL, our campus cable-injected and web-cast station sanctioned under our IBS Membership. FRS provides a nurturing educational media industry environment that anyone and everyone can gain experience from and get involved in; whether they be students looking to break into the field or community members looking for a new hobby...no experience necessary!
